The first postcard

Here's my first postcard from Second Life. It's from a new place called the Diversionarium. You can find out all about it here. Unfortunately, it runs on Silicon Valley time, which is eight hours behind us, so when I visited, and took this picture, it was early morning for the management and punters. Sure, Second Life and the Blogosphere are bringing the cybercitizens of the world closer together, but you can never get away from the inconvenience of different time zones. The Internet just shoves it in your face.
Anyway, consider the picture above as an experiment. I did it just to see how to do it. I'll delve back into SL and bring you some more exciting pictures in future posts.
It's the big day tomorrow. Check back in about twenty four hours for a doozy of a post.

Hi Deacon!

The time zone problem is a constant one, but we're hoping, as we get more regulars, to eventually host some events at times that are good for European and maybe even Australian visitors. We don't have much hope of being of interest to people who don't speak English well because so many of our activities are about language and conversation and words, but maybe some day we'll even figure that out.

We'd be glad for any suggestions!

Oh, and I forgot to mention! The Div's activities all run from scripted objects, so if you happen to be able to round up a few friends, there are things to do there at any time. There are even a couple of activities (our word clue game and our limerick game) that can be played alone.

I hope the photo does your place justice. The time barrier is a problem though. When people in LA are getting home from work and tuning in, I'm in my bed dropping off.
