It seems reports of the NHS Blogdoctor's demise may be premature. A troll has admitted to hoaxing the news of his death in order to provoke Dr John Crippen into a denial. Thanks to Julie for letting me know.
You've got to be very careful what you read on the internet, obviously. Everything should be corroborated before you publish. In the rush to be first with the news, you're likely to be burned.
He still hasn't spoken though, so we're none the wiser as to what's happened to him.

The world is full of trickery. I am glad to hear the NHS Blogdoctor is alive and well. I was once involved with a play about another Dr Crippen. I must tell you about it sometime.
I didn't know you were up for treading the boards Martyne.
I have been a thespian in my time cheeky minx but I was a "back room boy" in that production. A strange term for a laydee like myself but I am sure you know what I mean. I suspect you are a "fellow" lover of the theatre!
I can see you now with your needle and thread making costumes, folder in hand doing stage managementy things and generally bringing order to the chaos around you.
If my memory serves me correctly cheeky minx, I directed that piece. So although I can be nifty with needles and thread I spent my time bossing the acting fodder about. Most satisfying. Would have loved to get masterful with George Clooney if he had been in it. Sadly that was not the case.
Hi Deacon,
just to let you know that Dr Crippen is back; he posted today. hooray!
